2. About Chef Next Door
Chef Next Door is an online marketplace connecting independent chefs (Chefs) with consumers (Customers).
We are a marketplace facilitator only. We are not a food business operator, food supplier, food manufacturer, food distributor, food retailer, or food delivery service.
We do not prepare, cook, handle, store, package, label, inspect, test, verify, certify, transport, distribute, purchase, or resell food at any time.
Each Chef is an independent business. Chefs are not our employees, agents, or representatives. The contract for sale of food is between the Customer and the Chef. Chef Next Door is not a party.
Chef Next Door's revenue is derived from a commission on orders facilitated through the platform — a fee for marketplace services, not for the purchase or resale of food.
3. General Disclaimers
3.1 No endorsement or verification.
Listing on Chef Next Door does not constitute endorsement, verification, certification, or recommendation. We do not audit, inspect, or certify Chefs, their food, their premises, or their compliance.
3.2 No verification of premises or kitchens.
We do not inspect, verify, approve, or certify any Chef's kitchen, home, or premises. Customers should satisfy themselves regarding the Chef's credentials before ordering.
3.3 No verification of food safety or quality.
We do not verify, test, guarantee, or warrant the safety, quality, legality, freshness, allergen status, or fitness for purpose of any food.
3.4 Listing accuracy.
Listings are created by Chefs. We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or currency.
3.5 No medical, dietary, or food safety advice.
Chef Next Door does not provide medical, dietary, nutritional, food safety, legal, or tax advice. Seek independent professional advice where appropriate.
3.6 No guarantee of Chef compliance.
Chefs are required to hold appropriate registrations and insurance under a separate agreement. We collect ABN and Food Safety Supervisor certificate at onboarding but do not verify premises, insurance adequacy, or ongoing compliance.
3.7 Data hosting.
Platform data is hosted on Supabase. Payments are processed by Stripe. We are not liable for breaches, outages, or data loss caused by third-party infrastructure providers.
4. Payment Structure Clarification
Chef Next Door does not purchase food from Chefs and does not resell food to Customers.
Payment flows directly between the Customer and the Chef (either via direct payment or via Stripe split/Connect). Chef Next Door's commission is a separate fee for marketplace facilitation services.
Chef Next Door is not a principal, reseller, or distributor in any transaction.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chef Next Door is not liable for any food, act, omission, or conduct of any Chef; illness, injury, allergic reaction, death, or property damage from food; indirect, consequential, special, or punitive loss; reliance on Listing information or Chef claims; or data breaches, outages, or loss caused by Supabase, Stripe, or other third-party providers.
Nothing on this page excludes any right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, code, logos, trade marks, and materials (excluding Chef content) are the property of Chef Next Door Pty Ltd.
